Applications

 

It is primarily used in metal surface treatment as an anti-corrosion coating and bonding promoter. It can significantly enhance the corrosion resistance of metals (such as steel, copper, aluminum, etc.), improve coating adhesion, while also possessing hydrophobicity and weather resistance. Its structure contains a high concentration of epoxy groups, which form stable chemical bonds through ring-opening reactions, making it suitable for the durability requirements of rigid composite materials. Compared to monomeric silanes, its oligomeric form results in a more uniform film, longer storage time, and higher stability.

Specific application areas include:

1. Metal surface treatment. For instance, in hot-dip galvanizing, coil coating, aluminum alloys, etc., to enhance the corrosion and weather resistance of metals.

2. Water-based paints. Such as water-based acrylic and water-based epoxy primers, to improve the adhesion of the paint to the substrate and its compatibility with the system's polymers.

3. Baking paints. To improve the coating's properties like water resistance, chemical resistance, scrub resistance, etc.
